IO-320 Prop Governor

Well Known Member
Good morning everyone,
I am currently rebuilding an IO-320 off a Twin Comanche and was wondering if any one sees a problem with using a full feathering prop governor, or do I need to get one specifically designed for a single engine airplane?

thanks,

Brandon

I have a Twin Comanche prop and governor on my -4.
I don’t have a feather detent in my prop lever so the prop can’t be commanded to feather. I also have course pitch stops that were installed at overhaul so it won’t feather in flight should oil pressure be lost.
On a previous plane I had a prop shop reverse a governor that was set up for an acrobatic prop. If you use a standard prop your governor should be able to be reversed.

need new governor

Afternoon everyone,
I finally got around to taking my governor to the shop and they said that it can't be converted to a single engine governor unless I plan to use an acrobatic propeller, which I don't. My new question is any suggestions or comments on a new governor for and IO-320? The prop guy recommended a PCU 5000.

thanks
Brandon
