Where to take the Technician exam

The exam for the Amateur Radio license, Technician class, is frequently administered via local ham radio clubs.

The ARRL has a listing of many exam locations:

http://www.arrl.org/find-an-amateur-radio-license-exam-session

This is not a complete listing, be sure to check with local clubs for info on the location and time of exams.

Please feel free to post messages to this thread when you hear about exams being offered in your area. No doubt this info will be useful for aviators who are ready to enjoy the utility of APRS tracking.

Greetings,

I'm not sure if this is the most "appropriate" forum, but I *think* you need to take this test to operate your APRS (?). At any rate, if a mod feels this is not an appropriate forum (or post for that matter), fire away...

One Day Boot Camp for Technician level offered by KARC, April 24. See http://w4bti.org for details.

I don't know if you need to be a member or not to sign up - not a member myself, just passing the message along...

North Fulton Amateur Radio League

The North Fulton Amateur Radio League (NFARL) covers the north side of Atlanta. They are a very aggressive and active organization to get individuals interested in amateur radio. www.nfarl.org

With that said here are a couple of links:

This link is for their 2009 testing schedule

The second link if for their "Ham Cram". This is a one day course to help you pass the Technical or General exams. After the day of Cramming they will administer the test, so it is a one day fun event. I recently used them to get my General and it was a breeze. The next Ham Cram is scheduled for October 3rd, 2009
