I am adding a Superior Cold Sump (it looks like anodized gold) to my IO-360 Thunderbolt engine (painted black and red).
Aesthetics aside, are there any reasons for or against painting the sump?
Last week while at Lycoming Engine School (which was excellent by the way), I was told that Lycoming just uses straight up enamel paint (no brand was mentioned).
If I do end up painting it, do I just get any engine enamel?
Does anyone know of a paint that matches Lycoming Thunderbolt Red?
