Clean edge on Fiberglass layup over Canopy?

I'm sure this information is here somewhere, but couldn't find it So, I'm about to do several plys of fiberglass cloth around the base of a canopy already Hysol'd onto the fiberglass frame.

The canopy to frame adhering went fine. We will be micro-ing the seam between frame and bubble to make it smooth and pretty, but then comes the layup. It will cover the canopy up to the top of the internal flange. I'm not concerned about the strength of that layup, it's the cosmetics that worry me.

In a perfect world, I'd like a nice clean and sharp edge of fiberglass. How do I mask off the bubble so that the fiberglass will lay against something to produce this edge? There's no way to sand off the layup after it's cured to attain that edge, so how do I mold it?
