Upper and lower cowl trimming question

Nitty

Well Known Member
I'm trimming the cowls to the scribe lines and am confused in a couple areas.

1. Top Cowl: On the left edge of the left inlet, the scribe line appears to angle to the rounded portion of the inlet vice it's opposite mate that meets the rounded portion at essentially a right angle. See photo. Is that correct? I wouldn't think so but there is definitely what appears to be a scribe line at that location.

2nd. Bottom cowl: the scribe line would suggest that a significant portion of the bottom left inlet is trimmed away, presumably for the air filter but wanted to make sure before I make the cut. See photos. The right photo shows that the bottom left lip is trimmed a good inch of so more than the bottom lip of the right inlet.
