How long is the wait for DAR/FAA inspection

Just wondering how long you all had to wait after you entered/uploaded all of your docs on the myAWC/FAA site. I entered a DAR on the site and have spoken with him prior to submission.

Just curious how long this usually takes before the FAA works though it.

Thanks in advance-

I have a great managing specialist that normally delegates certifications to me within 24 hours of receipt. Some may take a little longer. The key is talking to your DAR so they know it is coming. Many times I assist the applicant with the AWC system to make sure it is done properly.

Dan,

Went through this a few months ago in Western WA. Had spoken to the DAR ahead of time and he knew to expect the formal request. Took maybe a day or two. The longest delay was getting both our schedules to line up - the online stuff was easy and quick.

The repairman's certificate was another story - although the online application was quick, it took quite awhile for the MIDO/FSDO to actually be available/schedule the on-site visit. Something to do with Covid protocols. Whatever, it worked out just fine and the lack of a Repairman's Cert doesn't keep you from starting your Phase One.

I usually receive delegation from the FAA in 24 -48 hours, then contact the applicant and make an appointment for inspection, usually able to inspect within a couple of days. HOWEVER... aircraft must be registered prior to inspection, and that can take about 10 weeks now! So, make sure you send in the bill of sale, eligibility statement, and registration application (FAA forms 8050-1; 8050-2; and 8050-88(notarized) plus $5.00 to Aircraft Registration. The process can be expedited by contacting one of the "expediters" in Oklahoma City.

Actually the FAA Registration office gives priority to original registrations and is currently turning them around pretty quickly. I registered my current aircraft last month and received it in less than 2 weeks through normal channels.

Thanks All!!!

Aircraft is registered and I spoke to the DAR (Gary Brown). I'll ping him to see if he got it.

BTW- he has been awesome helping out designing the program (After advice from all of you).
