RV 10 leather for seats

Weefle

Well Known Member
Just curious if anyone has purchased leather then had an upholstery shop do their seats in an RV 10? If so do you recall how many sq. Ft. Of leather would be required? This is using the stock RV 10 seat frames and I guess standard seats for the back.

Thanks

Keith

leather for seats

Flightlines used most of two hides( purchased from Boeing Surplus $50 hide)
for the seats, side panels, and baggage compartment for my RV7. The Yard Store had(has) a lot of hides, last i saw $75 a hide, don't know if its all aircraft leather or not.

I had two hides given to me. It was just enough for the seats on my -10. Plus stick covers. The back of the rear seats weren’t finished in leather.

Peter

I have seat back frames for sale if you decide you want headrests on the rear to match the front are willing to go the self-covering route. As far as commercial RV vendors go, only one vendor - Abby at Flightline (IIRC) will cover these seat frames for you, but any indy upholstery shop certainly can.

PM if interested.
