2500 Hours!

Turned 2500 on the hobbs yesterday! Dropped the oil after landing. Went back this morning and checked the filter and screen, scoped the valves, and checked to see if she still holds pressure in the cylinders.

Happy to report all still seems well. Bits of carbon in the filter and a trace of ferrous dust on the magnet, nothing in the screen. Compressions (very cold) were 72,72,74,76. Plugs were dry and tannish in color. She burned 1.75 Qt over the 50 hours.

Valves looked good to me - see what you think. I plan to keep flying her just as I have been.....

Pete - I think you are doing it right - feel free to share your tips and tricks for us low-time engine operators so we too can hit 2500 hours and have our valves look as good as yours!

Fantastic! The valves look so clean without lead in the fuel. Hopefully, we will start to get that unleaded avgas more available. Here in California, all the mogas has ethanol.

That is awesome! I'm right behind you Pete, but you remind me to fly more. I'm feeling another 2700mi trip (one way) in my bones :).
