Question to UK based RV10 builders

LAA in TL 3.15 approves a number of “experimental” Lycoming clones. Lycoming Thunderbolt is explicitly not included in the general acceptance. Q: Anybody here building an RV10 with a Thunderbolt IO540 CAI (cold air induction) and requesting IFR approval for the airplane?

Prop combination

Sorry I can’t help on the thunderbolt question as I’m using the standard D4A5.
I know there’s a Rv-10 at Turweston at the moment that was imported from the USA that has the showplanes cowl but can’t recall if they had the cold air induction. But it is quite possible it does.
But You also have to consider the prop combination you plan to use, as the LAA seem to only allow tested or manufacture approved engine prop combinations.

Regards

Peter
