I soon will be doing the test card to determine Vy. Just wondering what others have gotten with a similar setup?

RV-7
IO-360-M1B (180 HP) Lycoming
2 Mags
Catto 66x76 3-blade prop

Thanks for any info.

Around 95KIAS for me.
IO-360B1B CS Prop
But faster is better for me. Better cooling for the engine, better visibility for me, and lastly, more reaction time should the motor quit.

Thanks for the info. The test card in the test manual says to use speeds between 1.1 and 1.5 Vs which would be really low speeds. 95 sounds more reasonable for the RV's.

Here's a good article on this.

The curve is pretty flat, so somewhere between about 85 and 105 is going to be about the same.
