ADS-B GPS Antenna Location

I'm installing a Garmin GDL-82 to meet the ADS-B out requirements. I'd like to place the antenna on the outside of the aft fuselage directly in front of the vertical stabilizer. I have two questions. 1) Will the VS block GPS signal. 2) The install manual says the antenna must be level in flight. Will the angle of the top of the fuselage at that position cause problems?

Gdl82 gps antenna

I have a 7A tip up and mounted the gdl82 gps antenna directly on the glareshield in front of me. Passed the Performance Test without any issues. This made the coax run very simple (per Garmin, the coax is 6.5? in length with a few excess feet wrapped near the gdl82.

Your proposed placement should be fine.
