Wiring the White Lightning

Wondering if anyone has used the White Lightning ground power unit Van's sells and if so, could you show me your external power plug setup and what gauge wire you used?

Today, I fired up the avionics for the first time but I'll wear down that battery quick.

Buy a second cable, chop the end off and crimp/solder/heatshrink on terminal lugs appropriate to the battery.

I did this with EC5 connectors for an EarthX jump pack. 10GA wire from EC5 to the battery terminals. Secured the EC5 to the motor mount with cushion clamps.

edit: This is much cheaper alternative --- https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Co...mzn1.fos.006c50ae-5d4c-4777-9bc0-4513d670b6bc

Hey Bob-

I can grab a couple shots of my install. I have my power plug accessible through my oil door and used a couple adel clamps and a piece of alu to attach the receptacle to the engine mount.

I used #8 gauge down to the contactor,

That would be outstanding, Dan. Thank you. I'd love to see what you've got.

I have this power supply. Its super easy to use and very high quality. I've been doing all my avionics testing using this supply, and theres no problem running my entire system from this supply.

It doesnt have the fancy timers built in, but for testing purposes its perfectly sufficient.

A friend of mine has the White Lightening. I think the power cables came with it. And I think they also sell the compatible jumper that connects to the ships battery or the master relay post.

They provide a cable to connect to an external power outlet and they provide a shell for the outlet in the EXP model. Wire and connectors to the master are up to the aircraft owner.
