How about this?

Take your fuel tanks before installing the rear baffle and dunk them upside down into a pool of water, about a foot down should do it.

Your skin will fit just fine but given the primer and what not, it might not want to conform as easily as it did with a smooth metal to metal surface.

That would be somewhat accurate and more realistic and perhaps a 5kt speed reduction if you are able to run on the extreme side of LOP...
