Maxpedition Fatboy
4/23/07 - I just took possession of a 'Fatboy' Versipack made by Maxpedition to use as an all-around day pack, airplane companion and airshow must-have. I got the khaki one, not the green one pictured below. Think of it as a kind of a cross between a waistpack and a backpack. You sling it over your shoulder (they make right and left versions) and fill it with all the junk that you want to carry with you in your airplane, at an airshow or in the mall. It has plenty of room for all the usual pilot-guy junk - knife, shades, pen, multi-tool, camera, flashlight, cell phone, etc. with lots left over as the situation calls for (full size camera, GPS, extra socks/underwear/shirt, etc).
First impression is it's WAY better than lugging around 33 things in your cargo shorts. It folds up and stows nicely in front of my seat in the car.
Note: the picture below shows some accessories attached that I didn't get. I got the base unit (khaki)
