I'm wanting to have at least (10) volunteer moderators in each group. If you'd like to be a moderator just send me an email with 'Moderator offer': Group) in the subject line - replace the 'Group' with '3,4,6,7,8,9,10,VansAirForce, Lycoming...you get the idea. Make sure to include the email address you use in that particular group. I'll put all the offers in a folder and add them workload-permitting. I'll also try to update this page once a month so we can all see who to thank for keeping the lists on topic, civil and spam-free.

Who should moderate?  
Anyone who is on the web a lot and has about three minutes once every couple of days.

How to moderate. 
Go to this link: http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups maybe once a day and see if any of the groups you moderate have messages or new members pending.  Approve/reject as needed.

What to reject (in actuality only about one in fifty messages is deleted):  

• Messages that just say "I agree!", or "Me too".  It may seem like a trivial thing, but sometimes it goes to over 1,400 people.
• Blank messages.  Usually caused by those viruses that send out messages to everyone in your address book
• Duplicates.  Sometimes people don't see their posting immediately so they resend it.  
• Anything that could be seen as offensive. There is an edit feature, so if it's just one curse word simply remove it...no one will mind.
