#6:  Q: What's wrong with this picture?
	Answer:    Used RTV on fuel inlet fitting at mechanical fuel pump, probably because they had an issue with it leaking and didn't think to replace the O-ring.  Once that red stuff breaks loose and goes through the carburetor...well you know the rest (involves the engine getting quiet).    Note broken-off piece of RTV inside fuel pump in bottom image. Solution:    Complete teardown of fuel pump and carburetor.  Install new fitting without RTV.  Don't use RTV on any fittings.
