May 9, 2009 rain date May 16 4/26/09 The '09 fly-in is going to be absorbed into the Pecan Plantation Spring Fly-In near Granbury, TX.  Chapter 983 there in Granbury runs a world class event, and since nobody stepped up to the plate to organize a gathering of strictly RVs sometime in May, the folks at Pecan graciously offered to let us sit in.  Great folks. Identifier: OTX1 A Bit of History    This fly-in has gone by many names and has been held at many locations throughout Texas over the past decades.  It started with Bob Brashear at 'White Knuckle' airport.  It moved to Mike/Bonnie Anderson's 'Cougar Landing' airport, then Phil/Anne Grisham's 'Scott Field', Spinks and Midlothian (and other places). It's a one day event that is strictly social. Arrival Procedures: Most Important:  Safety above all else!!!    Please keep your head on a swivel, fly standard, FAA approved arrival procedures and don't do anything that endangers the safety of those around you or on the ground.  Thanks in advance for flying responsibly.
